Trailblazers: Give Emergency Assistance

Behold, a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Jesus replied and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he encountered robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead…”

Luke 10:25-30 (NASB)*

Whether it was a no-luck fisherman, a blind beggar on the side of the road…

  • A disciple's ailing mother-in-law,

  • A centurion with a sick servant,

  • A wild man with a legion of demons,

  • A brave woman with an issue of blood,

  • An adulteress about to be stoned,

  • Parents begging for their stricken children,

  • Four friends carrying a paralytic,

  • Disfigured lepers asking for mercy,

  • Lazarus, dead for 3-days in a tomb,

  • Or thousands of tired and hungry people…

Jesus gave emergency assistance.

If His mission was to preach and to teach, then His real-time proof was to lend a Hand.

If His work was to love and save the world, then His joy was to help all who sought Him. Jesus was never too busy, too tired, or too important to tend to His sheep.

Pertinent questions:

Are our priorities the same as His? I confess: I can get preoccupied. My 'To Do' list is a harsh task-master. But if I let my “To-Do’s” take the lead, then I’m not following my Captain’s lead!

As a culture of too-busy Christians, do we ignore the beggars at our gates?* Are we the hustling-bustling loveless church?** With minds of men but NOT the Mind of Christ?

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Consider fans like beggars at YOUR gate. Why? Because they are. Audiences wrapped up in media… don’t know the freedom of a real-time life.

Because when fiction becomes our focus, truth is confused, missing, and forgotten. You carry God’s Truth! Be that performer who understands his BEST act is emergency assistance. So…

Don't get distracted by applauding hands, personal plans, or convenient friendships. Right now, fans need your urgent attention.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
