Trailblazers: Take High Roads
Strengthen the exhausted, and make the feeble strong.
Say to those with anxious hearts,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with vengeance;
The retribution of God will come,
But He will save you.”
Then the eyes of those who are blind will be opened,
And the ears of those who are deaf will be unstopped.
Then those who limp will leap like a deer,
And the tongue of those who cannot speak will shout for joy.
For waters will burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
The scorched land will become a pool
And the thirsty ground springs of water;
In the haunt of jackals, its resting place,
Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness.
Isaiah 35:3-8 (NASB)
Heralding the arrival of Jesus was John the Baptist:
'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God' ' (Isaiah 40:3).
Heralding Christ’s return is the movement of actors, models, and talent for Christ:
'Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you' (Isaiah 60:1).
Your active orders and Great Commission?
'Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples!' (Isaiah 62:10).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
As God's messengers and ambassadors, your assignment is communication.
Masses of deaf people will hear His Voice.
Masses of lost people will spot your act.
Masses of mad people will feel your calm.
Masses of sad people will know your hope.
Masses of “stuck” people will grab your hand.
For this to happen, God calls you to rise: surely on the screens masses are watching, but much more, in your off-screen behavior.
Your talent is a shiny, charming hook. Your real-life acts will draw fans to the Book. His Name is Jesus.
So…
When you’re given a choice of directions, choose the higher path (because Jesus did).
When you're insulted, choose not to argue.
When you’re tempted, choose to focus elsewhere.
When you're dressing, choose to look cool and clean.
When you're offered roles, pray over each one.
When you’re cheered and praised, give God the glory.
When others won't give, you give anyway.
When Christians won't go, you answer, 'Send Me.'
When paths can't be seen, then cut down the brush: 'Set up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note of the highway' (Jeremiah 31:21)...
Because you’re God’s modern-day trailblazers.
Trailblazers: Take High Roads (Part 12)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
