Soldier's Orders: Mercy
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
Luke 6:36 (ESV)
For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
James 2:13 (ESV)
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Matthew 5:7 (ESV)
Mercy is a police officer who buys a pair of boots for a homeless man… or eggs for a shoplifting grandmother.*
Mercy is a girl-group who shave their heads in support of a friend with breast cancer.** It’s 'compassion for the miserable' (Easton's Bible Dictionary).
Mercy isn’t logical or easy.
It's a slap in the face of apathy.
It's a break in business as usual.
It's a cure for the disease of disdain.
It's a lifeline for those grieving and hurt.
It's a choice not to judge by man's standards.
IT’S A TEST to reveal our allegiance.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Christians want, need, and expect God's mercy. Here's the crux: Do we give it to others?
As soldiers in the Living God's army, as ambassadors of Christ with Good News, as performers with great gifts and talents, be heralds of the Living God's MERCY...
Which is seen by showing the world LOVE– especially when it's inconvenient, unconventional, or unpopular. How? In the entertainment industry...
Be the model who shines from the inside.
Be the actor who talks with the extras.
Be the singer at small people's parties.
Be the dancer who sits down with a friend.
Be the comic who says no to mean jokes.
Be a Christian who refuses to judge.
And within the church…
Be a model of kindness and service.
Be an actor whose walk exceeds his talk.
Be a singer who praises on weak days.
Be a dancer who lifts others to move.
Be an encourager of the lonely.
Be a Christian who refuses to judge.
Because our Father 'Delights in mercy' (Micah 7:18).
Now 'Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love' (2 John 1:3).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
